Reggie bush Cut By Lions

Reggie bush Cut By Lions, Having lost 1,000-yard runner Frank Gore to free agency and needing a back to complement power rusher Carlos Hyde, the San Francisco 49ers have come to an agreement with former USC Trojans superstar Reggie Bush according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Terms are undisclosed.

Coming out of USC, Bush was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, selected by the New Orleans Saints. While he never emerged as a superstar in the league where they play for pay Bush has had his moments in the NFL. He was part of a Super Bowl winner in New Orleans and put together 1,000-yard seasons with the Miami Dolphins (2011) and Detroit Lions (2013).

However, Bush turned 30 in March and his 297 yards in 2014 were the second-lowest total of his career. He carried the ball just 76 times for the Lions this past season.

Second-year man Carlos Hyde (83 carries as a rookie) is expected to get a bulk of the load in 2015 for the Niners. He’s more of an in-between the tackles type runner. Bush is a different kind of back, who will also be San Fran’s primary receiver coming out of the backfield. In his nine-year career Bush has accumulated 466 receptions.

— Jennings Released

A day after the Minnesota Vikings traded for wide receiver Mike Wallace they released wide out Greg Jennings.

Minnesota signed Jennings to a five-year deal worth $45 million in 2013 and he never was as good wearing purple as he was catching passes from Aaron Rodgers.

In his last five full seasons in Green Bay—Jennings missed half the season in 2012—the Western Michigan product topped 900 yards, including three-straight years with over 1,100 receiving yards. In his first year in Minny, Jennings had just 804 yards through the air, a total that dipped to 742 yards this past season.

Part of his drop in production is likely his age, Jennings will turn 32 in September, but mediocre quarterback play in Minnesota can’t be discounted.

— MJ Returns

On Saturday defensive end Michael Johnson arrived in Cincinnati with an eye towards rejoining the Bengals, the team that drafted him. The Tampa Bay Bucs released Johnson last week and he already visited with the Minnesota Vikings, who are coached by former Cincy defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that Johnson has signed with the Bengals on Sunday.

— Upcoming Visits

Former Kansas City Chiefs wide out Dwayne Bowe, who was released by the team last week, is visiting with the receiver-needy Cleveland Browns. Bowe landed in Cleveland on Saturday according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson. Three times in his career Bowe topped the 1,000-yard plateau and he led the NFL in receiving TDs in 2010 with 15, however he was held scoreless for the first time in his career this past season.

Another veteran receiver looking for a new home is Stevie Johnson, who is scheduled to visit with the New England Patriots on Monday. Johnson started his career with the Buffalo Bills so he is no stranger to the AFC East. In six seasons with Buffalo, Johnson turned in three 1,000-yard campaigns, however his numbers have been on the decline and he had just 435 receiving yards for the San Francisco 49ers in 2014.
