Rosie: Rosie Perez isn't quitting 'The View
That's what Variety says.
Causing a flurry of speculation late Wednesday, Variety reported that Perez is "exiting" The View after only four months. She joined the new, revamped Season 18 in September with Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell and Nicolle Wallace.
Perez hasn't been on the show in January because she is rehearsing for the Broadway play, Fish in the Dark.
The Daily News chimed in, reporting that Perez has not felt comfortable on the show.
But the other Rosie on the show - Rosie O'Donnell, at the top of Thursday's edition of The View, started off Hot Topics by announcing that Whoopi Goldberg, who is recovering from back problems, will be back on Tuesday.
"And no matter what you read anywhere, Rosie Perez is also coming back after she is done rehearsing her play," said O'Donnell.
"Her play, the new Larry David play she's starring in, opens soon and then she will be back here at her job - regardless of what you hear on other shows or read in magazines. As I did last night at 11:40 and went 'What the ..?'"
ABC also said in a statement regarding Perez, "Her status with the show has not changed."
