Twisted sister break up:Twisted Sister Call It Quits After 40 Years, They're not gonna take it anymore. Twisted Sister announced the band will break up after their farewell tour across the U.S. and Europe ends in 2016. The news comes just weeks after drummer A.J. Pero died of a heart attack. "He's [Pero] the first member of the band to die, and it's very sad," frontman Dee Snider told X17. Mike Portnoy (Adrenaline Mob) will replace Pero on the tour.

The band famously sang "We're Not Going to Take It," but Twisted Sister is taking it to the road one last time before calling it quits.

On Tuesday, Twisted Sister announced a farewell tour, "Forty and F--- It," that will have them playing throughout the United States and Europe a final time before officially dissolving the band.

The line-up includes frontman Dee Snider as well as Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda, and Mark Mendoza. Dummer Mike Portnoy will fill in for drummer A.J. Pero, who died of an apparent heart attack on March 20.

TMZ posted the news on Tuesday, and Snider re-Tweeted news items about the band's dissolution throughout the day.

The band first formed in 1972. Speaking to X17 on March 23, Snider said he was heartbroken over Pero's death. "He's the first member of the band to die, and it's very sad," he said.

On June 13, Twisted Sister will also be playing a show in honor of Pero at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey.
