Star Wars Toys

Robot Chicken's Matt Senreich talks about their new Star Wars special - and gives us commentary on 25 of the most ridiculous new pieces of Star Wars merch.

Darth Vader Nintendo Wii Sensor Bar Holder

Cost: $39.99

What Is It? What the title says. If you have a Wii, you take the sensor bar (the thing that detects your controller's motion), and stick it on top of Vader's lightsaber. Just like in the movies!

Matt Senreich Says: "It makes me want to get one for my Wii... That way, it'll make me feel like I'm playing against Darth Vader every time."
Yoda Nutcracker

Cost: $31.99

What Is It? Remember that scene in Empire when Yoda said, "Do, or do not. There is no try." And then opened up his neck and threw some walnuts in there? Well, now you can relive the magic at home.

Matt Senreich Says: "I love that Yoda will crush your balls if you fuck up. Of all the characters in the Star Wars universe, Yoda is the nutcracker."
Star Wars Chopsticks - Luke & Yoda

Cost: $19.99

What Is It? They don't glow, or make swishing sounds, but they will pick up your food. That's pretty much it.

Matt Senreich Says: "I actually have these, although I have the Vader ones. It's awesome to eat sushi with lightsabers."

Lightsaber Bottle Opener

Cost: $16.99

What Is It? Headed out to the local cantina? Then bring this along, and you can open any bottle using only the power of the Force! Or at least, your arm muscles.

Matt Senreich Says: "I've never seen this one before, and it makes me want to get one. I like the fact that there's a key clip on it, so you can attach it to your keychain."
Dagobah Frog Habitat

Cost: $34.99

What Is It? Frogs shipped separately, but you can watch them grow from tadpole to leapin' lizard (frogs are lizards, right?) in a perfect recreation of Yoda's house.

Matt Senreich Says: "I like that it ships worldwide, except for Mexico. Are frogs illegal in Mexico?"
Giant C-3P0 Plush Transforming Backpack

Cost: $39.99

What Is It? It's a plush toy version of your favorite prissy robot, but it also turns into a fully operational backpack, capable of holding a laptop, notepads, or as many Star Wars figures as you can carry. Also? The eyes light up. Sweet.

Matt Senreich Says: "I'm excited to say that I have an R2-D2 plush, so this might go very well with that. And, you can put an iPad in it. Very exciting!"
Darth Vader Toaster

Cost: $54.99

What Is It? It's a regular toaster, except it burns Darth Vader's face in one side of your toast. Never has turning to the Dark Side been so delicious.

Matt Senreich Says: "I know for a fact that Seth [Green] has one of these. He's one up on me with this one... Wait, this burns your toast? That wouldn't make the toast as tasty, I don't like burnt toast. Okay, you know what, forget it. Seth can keep it."
Darth Vader Lamp Clock and Mp3 Dock

Cost: $49.99

What Is It? Just like Lord Vader himself, this is more machine than man: a lamp; a clock; and an Mp3 dock.

Matt Senreich Says: "His head freaks me out a little bit."
Chewbacca Talking Plush Keychain

Cost: $9.99

What Is It? Whereas most talking toys run through a few simple phrases, when you're dealing with Chewbacca, you only get one: "RAAAWWWWRRRRRAR."

Matt Senreich Says: "Being that I use the soundboard of Chewbacca's voice to answer preposterous questions here and there, this might be more helpful - and easier to load up."
Wampa Rug

Cost: $99.99

What Is It? Soft fur, a pillow for a head, vinyl claws... Nothing says, "Come hang out next to this romantic fireplace," like a skinned Wampa.

Matt Senreich Says: "I love that they have a Slave Leia selling the dead Wampa. I can't argue with that sales tool."

The Ladies of Star Wars Playing Cards

Cost: $4.99

What Is It? From Amidala to Leia, they're all here - and on playing cards! Perfect for your next Solitaire game, guy who decided to buy The Ladies of Star Wars Playing Cards.

Matt Senreich Says: "Why haven't I seen half of these is my bigger question? But I think this is... Intriguing... For the single men of the world."
Darth Vader With Santa Hat

Cost: $9.99

What Is It? A tiny plush Darth with a Santa Claus hat on top. Perfect for remembering how amazing the Star Wars Christmas Special was.

Matt Senreich Says: "I never knew Darth Vader had to deliver presents on Christmas Eve... But I would love to see him drive that sleigh, I can not lie."
Darth Maul Kite

Cost: $24.99

What Is It? A 40" x 30" ripstop kite emblazoned with the dark Sith Lord himself, Darth Maul. Hopefully this kite won't split in half.

Matt Senreich Says: "Do people still use kites? I mean, if you're going to have a kite, a Darth Maul kite is the way to go. I just want to know who those people are who are flying the kites."

Princess Leia Dog Costume

Cost: $18.99

What Is It? Yup, that's an original Star Wars Princess Leia costume, with a dog standing up in it. Happy Halloween!

Matt Senreich Says: "See, I'm not a dog person, so the fact that you're dressing up a dog as Princess Leia is really weird to me. I don't think dogs need to dress up... There's a reason that dogs have fur."
Lego Star Wars Death Star

Cost: $399.99

What Is It? How complete is this pricey Death Star replica? Not only does it have Lego versions of pretty much every character in the original movie, there's also a Lego trash compactor monster. That's worth $389 right there.

Matt Senreich Says: "I need one of these, and it would probably take me too long to build it. I wish I had the time for it, and I wish they had one of these when I was a kid."

Inflatable Jabba The Hutt Costume

Cost: $69.99

What Is It? Yes, this costume is inflatable: it comes with a battery operated fan to keep you looking fat all night long. Note I said "fat" and not "phat."

Matt Senreich Says: "I am happy to say, I don't know if you know Bonnie Burton at Lucasfilm, but she tweeted pictures of herself dressed as Jabba going to a LucasFilm party... Which I think is the coolest thing ever."
The Force Trainer

Cost: $104.99

What Is It? Be a jedi at home, and levitate a ball with only the power of your mind! (And some sensitive electronics that detect miniscule facial movements, but you know... The Force!)

Matt Senreich Says: "I've seen kids use this at comic conventions, and was blown away by it. Again, this is a toy you wish we had when we were kids."
Slave Leia Perfume

Cost: $39.99

What Is It? An exclusive blend of perfume in a Slave Leia themed bottle. We'll let Senreich take it from here:

Matt Senreich Says: "Slave Leia probably hasn't showered much. She's been trapped, and slimed over by Jabba The Hutt, so what she smells like at that moment may not be the best perfume."
Death Star Planetarium

Cost: $21.99

What Is It? Take off the top of this Death Star, and you can project either Earth's night sky, or a map of the Star Wars universe. So it's either very educational, or not at all.

Matt Senreich Says: "I would say get this for your baby. Introduce them to Star Wars before they've seen the movie."
Taun Taun Sleeping Bag

Cost: $79.99

What Is It? A comfy sleeping bag that smells as good on the outside as it does on the inside.

Matt Senreich Says: "I own one."
Space Slug Oven Mitt

Cost: $19.99

What Is It? Complete with a picture of a tiny Millennium Falcon in the mouth, this oven mitt perfectly reproduces the asteroid based space slug from Empire.

Matt Senreich Says: "I don't have one, but I'm going to purchase it after we finish this interview. Though I'd want them to speak British, like they did in our special. I'd have Seth and Breckin [Meyer] voice them as I cook."
Vader's Dark Side Roast Coffee

Cost: $14.99

What Is It? One pound of dark roast coffee from Africa and Indonesia. Uh, we mean "Alderaan" and "Tatooine." Cough.

Matt Senreich Says: "I don't drink coffee, or caffeine, but anyone who does, I'm now buying this for. I hope it tastes good."
Lando Calrissian Disguise Kit

Cost: $7.99

What Is It? Fit right in to the Cloud City of your choice with this handy fake mustache, modeled after everyone's favorite Colt 45 spokesman.

Matt Senreich Says: "For anyone at Star Wars Celebration, you know that we wore this on our panel."

Threepio Swimsuit

Cost: $85

What Is It? A Lycra swimsuit that looks like C3-P0. Don't worry, there's an Artoo one, as well.

Matt Senreich Says: "What can you say? This is a wonderful invention for the geeks of America. Maybe even the world. I wonder if people will dress up in these at conventions, as opposed to the Slave Leia you see everywhere."

Newborn Chewbacca Costume

Cost: $19.99

What Is It? This romper costume for a Newborn comes with attached headpiece and sash, but sadly, no medal.

Matt Senreich Says: "Every kid should have one of these."
