U.S. ambassador apologizes for sex tourism remark, U.S. Ambassador Harry Thomas Jr. has apologized for saying that 40 percent of male tourists visiting the Philippines are there only for the sex trade. Thomas initially said he wouldn't apologize, but then relented, apparently under pressure from Washington.
