If you happen to be in Avanos, Turkey and fancy seeing over 16,000 locks of hair then you must visit the Turkey hair museum!

This odd attraction is popular with the tourists but wasn’t planned like that! It supposedly started when local potter Galip Korukcu collected a lock of hair to remember his friend by, that collection started to grow and grew to the 16,000+ collection.

That first lock was collected in 1979, so it’s not that old yet but maybe this museum will endure.
