Jennifer Love Hewitt knows how to wear pregnancy.

The 34-year-old actress posed for photographers at the Pampers Love, Sleep & Play event in New York on Wednesday wearing a chic black Isabella Oliver maternity dress that accentuated all of her mommy curves.

But her growing baby bump wasn't the only new accessory that added to her beautiful look. Hewitt also showed off a new shorter, darker hairdo with bangs at Vanderbilt Hall.

Her confidence on the red carpet is also something she's carrying with her as she approaches motherhood for the first time.

"I think most people, when they're getting ready to be a mom, they go, 'Oh my gosh, I have to have all of the answers right now,'" she told Us Weekly. "But every kid is different, every parent is different and every child and parent relationship is different, so you just sort of have to wait until you're in it and do the best that you can to try and be Zen in the middle of it all."

While Hewitt isn't stressing over how to be a mother she has had to deal with the minor inconveniences associated with being pregnant.

"Sometimes it's been tough to adjust to weird little things," she explained laughing, "like your hips go numb at night so you have to keep switching sides, and I started making old lady noises as I walk down the stairs. You know, things like that."

As "The Client List" star prepares for motherhood she's enjoying her momentary break from acting.Hewitt, the star of 'The Client List,' is in ongoing negotiations about who should play her baby's father on the Lifetime show.

"I'm off work for the moment, for the summer - it's a really happy, positive time, which I'm grateful for," she added.

However, during the break from her Lifetime drama series, the show's executives are deciding how to approach a possible third season as Hewitt's pregnancy was a bit of a surprise. The network and series producers are now brainstorming on how the storyline will go for a season 3.

But Hewitt is an executive producer and has her own take.
While some feel the series' male lead Colin Egglesfield should play the father of Hewitt's character Riley's baby, she wants Brian Hallisay, her real-life fiancé and co-star to take on that role.

The opposing views have reportedly caused a delay in production, according to Deadline. If a decision cannot be reached, both sides are said to be willing to walk away.

"There are many story lines we are exploring," a rep for Hewitt said. "So any suggestion that we are not doing our best to develop a great season is simply not accurate."

Drama aside, the parents-to-be are mulling over names for their little one as they await the baby's arrival.
"They're not traditional, but they're not crazy. They're sort of middle ground," she explained to Us. "I feel like it's going really fast now. We're only like three-and-a half or four months away. So I'm just excited to meet the baby!"
