Kingda Ka bird hits boy in the face

Kingda Ka bird hits boy in the face, A Six Flags Great Adventure guest was struck by an unexpected scare Thursday when a bird slammed into his face on the Kingda Ka roller coaster.

The guest, whom the Jackson, N.J. park would only identify as a “juvenile male,” suffered minor face and neck injuries, park spokesperson Kristin Siebeneicher wrote in an emailed statement to the Daily News.

“Nothing like this has ever happened before - it was a true act of nature,” she wrote. We immediately closed the ride and notified the state Department of Community Affairs, which is protocol,” the spokesperson wrote. “They cleared us to reopen the ride approximately 30 minutes later.”

The 45-story ride zips up to speeds of as high as 128 mph in 3.5 seconds. According to the Six Flags website, the Kingda Ka “breaks all world records for coaster speed and height” and is the tallest roller coaster in the world.
Juvenile males aren’t the only ones who have suffered from minor aerial collisions on park coasters, however.

In 1999, studly Italian supermodel Fabio was bludgeoned in the face by a goose on the 73-mph roller coaster Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Va.
