So, that cactus is supposed to be a monster’s hand but Gosling made the mistake of thinking his artistry was good enough to pull off his own tattooing and armed with a home tattoo kit he inked himself with the now infamous monsters hand that luckily just looks like a cactus! It could have worked out worse.

Ryan Gosling does however have a very interesting tattoo of The Giving Tree which has some significance to him.
