Zoomdoggle blog

Zoomdoggle blog, I'm not sure how I happened across Zoomdoggle, but I remember being immediately impressed with the design and the richness of the visuals. As I started looking through the posts, there were tons of fun videos and images. I knew I'd be adding it to my RSS reader when I saw the social projects in which creator Jake Bronstein was inviting his audience to participate.

According to Wikipedia, Jake is a co-founder of FHM Magazine and a former contestant on MTV's Road Rules. It seems like his interesting and eclectic background definitely makes for some cool blogging.

It all starts with a love letter written to me from a girl I haven't heard from in a while--and actually, truth be told, a girl I've never even met. I'll spare you the details, but it's been years since I've gotten a love letter, and just the act of opening it (we're not talking email here people) made me happy. Really happy. You could even say it warmed my heart.

So when I woke up the next day to find New York colder than it should be this time of year, it kinda got me thinking. Thinking got me talking. And, wouldn't you know it, before long, me and desk-mate Laura had each written a few love letters ourselves, taken them to Kinkos (arguably the most hateful place on each) to run off copies, and headed out into the cold to warm the hearts of some complete strangers.

This is such a fantastic project to do in New York City because of the variety of reactions you'll get. I'm a New Yorker, and I know that the city has a much bigger heart than the way it gets portrayed. But you'll also get people who want nothing to do with you and who don't trust a damn thing. Sure enough, he writes that some people gave them hugs, some people wanted nothing to do with it, and others were just uncomfortable with the whole thing. I love stuff like that. I wish he'd taken a video camera with him.

Anyway, Zoomdoggle is a lot more than just the Love Letters project. It's updated regularly and seems to still be under the radar.
