This Gold-Plated Lamborghini Model Car Will Set You Back $7.5 Million

Said to be the most expensive model car in the world, the glitzy item -- a model of the Lamborghini Aventador LP-700-4 -- will go up for auction at a starting price of $7.5 million, according to CNBC. A prototype of the model car, which has yet to be created, is currently on display in Dubai.
To be crafted at a scale of 1:8, the model car will contain about $2.6 million worth of precious metals and gems once it's completed, according to the model's manufacturer RGE Robert Gulpen Engineering.
CNBC reports that the model car -- which will be about 15 times more expensive than an actual Lamborghini Aventador -- will be carved out of a 500 kilogram block of solid gold.
Last year, another gold-plated Lamborghini Aventador was put up for sale. It was, however, a full-sized car, complete with a 700 horsepower engine. Covered in gold foil, the one-of-a-kind Aventador AU79 came with a price-tag of $550,000.
