Danny Dyer stays away from family home for TWO weeks after girlfriend says she 'wears the trousers'
Danny Dyer stays away from family home for TWO weeks after girlfriend says she 'wears the trousers, EastEnders star Danny Dyer has spent the first two weeks of 2015 staying in a hotel 30 minutes from his family home.
The cockney bad boy has reportedly been living in the Manor hotel in Borehamwood, Herts, since January 2.
The Manor is only a 35-minute drive from the Essex home he shares with partner Jo Mas and six minutes from Elstree studios where Danny plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter.
A hotel source told The Sun on Sunday: "It’s a mystery why he’d spend the first two weeks of 2015 in a hotel. It’s more like an EastEnders storyline than real life. It is a bit strange that he would choose a hotel over his own house with the missus and kids."
It comes just days after girlfriend Jo gushed about her man.
“He’s made out to be this bad boy but that’s not the Danny I live with. People might think I’m walking round the house with armour to protect myself, but it’s not like that. He’s calm. He’s chilled.
“He just wants a quiet peaceful life. He’s like a Spanish man really– he wants to do everything maƱana."An EastEnders spokesman told The Sun Danny was at the hotel because he was preparing for the 30th anniversary live episodes so needed to be close to the set.
Last night Jo told The Sun: “He has been at the Manor House, but that’s more for EastEnders. Danny’s due home today. Print the pictures, I don’t give a s***."
Danny himself has admitted he has done things over the years that hurt Jo.He said in one interview: “I’ve done so many things I’ve regretted. I’ve royally f***ed up with my missus. I got caught doing something I shouldn’t have. I hate myself for what I did.”
Though Jo seems to have put his indiscretions behind her, it’s not easy keeping the information away from daughters Dani, 18, Sunnie, seven and baby son Arty, who is 15 months old.
She says: “I’ve set up Nanny Net on the iPads because there are things online that I don’t want them to see.
“Dani is old enough now but I don’t want the younger ones to see it.”
So why has Jo stuck by her man for so long? Turning serious, she insists that Danny has always loved her.
“Every once in a while I might throw a bag of crisps at his head and go, ‘Hello, I’m here’ but he’s always been the same guy. Yeah, he has had his wild times, but he’s got that out of his system.”Before Danny hit the big time Jo was the main breadwinner with a job as a financial adviser. As a jobbing actor, Danny was in and out of work all the time. “I was the one earning the money,” she says.Danny spent years working in TV and films, including Human Traffic and The Football Factory, before joining EastEnders in 2013. He has been a massive ratings hit and in 2014 was in more episodes than anyone in the soap’s 30-year history.
Jo admits that the BBC show has changed their lives completely.
“Since Danny joined EastEnders it’s gone crazy,” she says.
“It’s been a massive turning point and it means we don’t have to worry. And people come up to me and say, ‘You are with Mick Carter!’
“EastEnders might be Danny’s world but it is also our world. We need that job so he can provide us baked beans on toast every night!”
