Karina Smirnoff Engaged: ‘DWTS’ Pro Engaged To Boyfriend Jason Adelman, Karina Smirnoff is engaged! The Dancing With The Stars pro and her on-again boyfriend, Jason Adelman, are set to tie the knot, according to Us Weekly. This is the third engagement for Smirnoff, who started wedding planning with two of her exes, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Brad Penny, but broke things off before walking down the aisle. While her previous engagements have ended in heartbreak, Smirnoff has been more of a hopeless romantic — she always felt that she would eventually find her happy ending.

“I still believe in love. I still believe in the fairy tale in spite of everything. The whole wedding scenario isn’t necessarily a must for me anymore — though I would love a wedding — but having someone special in my life is all I require. And kids…”

Karina Smirnoff and Jason Adelman have been dating for less than a year (cue the pregnancy rumors). According to E! News, Adelman presented Smirnoff with a 5-carat sparkler, created by jeweler Martin Katz.

“The gorgeous bling is said to be an emerald-cut diamond that weighs in at just under 5 carats—which would normally range from $100,000-$300,000,” reports E! News. Adelman confirmed the news himself, updating his Facebook status. Smirnoff has not made mention of her exciting news, but all eyes have been on her social media accounts just waiting for a pic of her ring.

It is believed that Karina will be back on the next season of Dancing With The Stars. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Karina suffered a frightening injury last season, and some feared that it would keep her from the dance floor for good. After a hospital visit and some R&R, however, she was back up on her feet, and has been dancing regularly since.

“So sad I’m not able to perform tonight on the show. Got hurt yesterday rehearsing. Now, some TLC and I’ll be back stronger then ever! thank u for ur support, guys. Love u! [sic],” she posted on Instagram at the time. Interestingly enough, she was linked to Orange Is The New Black actor Pablo Schreiber at that time.

Evidently her recovery was accompanied by new love.
