Top Yemen official seized in Sanaa, Gunmen in Yemen have abducted the president's chief of staff, officials have said.

Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak and two of his guards were kidnapped early on Saturday in the centre of the capital Sanaa, according to the reports.

One official blamed Shia Houthi rebels for the abduction, who have taken control of the capital.

They rejected his nomination as prime minister last year.
