Bristol Palin engaged, Bristol Palin and U.S. Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer quietly announced their engagement via Instagram late Friday night.

Palin provided the details on her blog page: "He asked me to marry him at a Rascal Flatts concert. The lead singer, Gary LeVox, dedicated Bless the Broken Road to us, and then Dakota got down on one knee and proposed!"

On Instagram, she wrote, "Truly the luckiest girl in the world, cannot wait to marry this man!!!!"The pair met when Meyer visited the Palins in Alaska to participate in the former governor's reality series Amazing America.

It will be the first marriage for both the eldest daughter (24) of the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate and the Marine veteran, 26, who received the nation's top military honor for rescuing pinned-down comrades and civilians during a September 2009 ambush in Afghanistan.

Palin was previously engaged to Levi Johnston, the father of her 6-year-old son, Tripp. She has been a frequent fixture on reality TV, competing in two seasons of Dancing With the Stars.
