Frozen 2' Confirmed At Disney Shareholder Meeting, Disney's highest grossing film is about to become the first animated movie from the studio to get a big-screen sequel.

John Lasseter, chief creative officer at Walt Disney and Pixar Animation, announced on Thursday durign the annual Walt Disney Company shareholder's meeting in San Francisco that Frozen 2 is officially in the works.

The project is merely greenlit, but Frozen directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, who also wrote the wrote the story for the first film, along with producer Peter Del Vecho are all returning for the sequel, according to Variety.com.

Since its Nov. 22, 2013, Frozen has made nearly $1.3 Billion and generated millions more in merchandising. The film's soundtrack also topped the Billboard chart for 13 weeks (non-consecutive).

Frozen also landed the Oscar for Best Animated Feature and for Best Original Song ("Let It Go"). It also won a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media.

More details on the production, including casting and a release date, will be announced at later dates, although actress Kristen Bell tweeted out the confirmation on Thursday and told CBS News that she'd love to "play Anna forever if they would let me."

Another big announcement was made at Disney's shareholder meeting -- actually two big announcements -- about the Star Wars franchise, which it purchased from George Lucas for $4 Billion in 2012.

The studio, which is hard at work on this December's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, announced that Star Wars: Episode VIII, the second film in the planned sequel trilogy, will be released on May 26, 2017 and be directed by Rian Johnson.

The first Star Wars stand-alone film, which will be directed by Gareth Edwards, was also given an official title: Rogue One. Felicity Jones was also confirmed as the star of the film after rumors surfaced last month.

Rogue One hits theaters on December 16, 2016.
