Morgan State stabbing

Morgan State stabbing, Three Morgan State football players were stabbed on the university’s campus Tuesday afternoon, according Baltimore Police.

The program was scheduled to commence spring practice, but a man swung a knife wildly at several players, slashing one in the chest, one in a cheek and another in the arm. The three injured players were taken to a hospital and a suspect was taken into custody, according to multiple reports.

The identities of the students had not yet been released Tuesday night, and the reason for the fight was not immediately known.

The stabbings were the most recent events in a string of violent activities involving the university over the last week. A male student was stabbed Friday with scissors by his roommate after an argument over the cleanliness of their dorm room. Early Saturday, an on-campus party was broken up after fights broke out.

"I want to assure the University community that we here at Morgan take the safety of the entire University quite seriously, and as such, the behaviors that we have seen from a few of our students over the past several days will simply not be tolerated," Morgan State president David Wilson told the Baltimore Sun. "This is not Morgan!"
