Laurence Fishburne Mother, Reports say that Laurence Fishburne’s mother, Hattie Crawford Fishburne, 80, is broke and now facing eviction.
Mrs. Fishburne says that her multimillionaire actor son will not return her desperate calls for help. She recently told the New York Post that she has reached out to her son, but that he refuses to return her calls.
“He’s gone Hollywood. For 20 years, I funded my son’s career. He promised me he would take care of me…. To this day, I have not got a Christmas present or a ‘Thank you, Mama’ present. He hasn’t given me a penny,” Hattie Crawford Fishburne said.
“I am so hurt and disappointed,” she added.
She currently lives on $3,000 a month from social security and her pension from teaching in public schools in both Brooklyn and Los Angeles. Mrs. Fishburne says that she is struggling to pay her medical bills connected to her arthritis, underactive thyroid, high cholesterol, and injuries suffered in a major car accident, reports the Daily Mail.
“I was a damn good teacher, honey,” she said. She retired from teaching back in 2009.
The Daily Mail reports that she is so far behind on her $1,500 a month rent on her Los Angeles apartment that she could be evicted as soon as Tuesday of this week.
Mrs. Fishburne states that she has not had contact with her famous son for well over a year.
