Saints Super Bowl ring

Saints Super Bowl ring, The ad claims that the “genuine, authentic 2009 New Orleans Saints Super Bowl ring” is “currently owned by a former Saints player.” To assuage skeptics, the “wooden presentation box and paperwork validating the authenticity are also included.”

Also: “Asking price is negotiable. Serious inquiries only.”

The New Orleans Times-Picayune found another Craiglist ad by the same seller offering a Saints helmet “signed by Drew Brees, Jeremy Shockey, Darren Sharper and Reggie Bush.” That helmet apparently showed number 29, and a look at the team’s 2009 media guide revealed that three players wore that number at various points: Chris McAlister, Marcus McCauley and Herana-Daze Jones, all defensive backs.

Another player wore 29 for the Saints that year was Glenn Sharpe, a defensive back who was on the team’s practice squad. In 2012, Sharpe was charged with murder after a man was shot to death in an Atlanta suburb.

All four players would have been among the 219 members of the Saints’ organization who received rings commemorating the team’s triumph over the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. However, it is unclear at the moment if any of them is actually the seller of the ring and/or helmet.
