The incident started early Wednesday in Morristown, Tenn., when two boys from a children's home in Greeneville allegedly ran away from a counseling session and stole a tractor truck from Universal Forest Products that had the keys inside, WBIR-TV, Knoxville, Tenn., reported.
Police say the 12-year-old driver rammed the truck through a gate and led officers on a chase on Highway 11-E.
New Market police laid out spike strips, puncturing a tire on the truck, but the boys kept going, police said.
The boys eventually made it to Knoxville, where they crashed the truck, police said. They were arrested and each face 10 separate charges, including a felony.
